The Retail Outlet Shatford's Lobster Pound was established in 1949 by Wilson & Verna Shatford.  Over the years they have served many customers and made many friends, many of whom are faithful customers to this day. The main attraction over the years has not only been the thrill of seeing live lobsters swimming in the tanks, but also the taste of homemade rootbeer and lobster sandwiches. Along with these items, the saltwater taffy, solomon gundy, [pickeled herring} and other homemade goods that have always been favourites with the regulars. Today, we still sell many of these traditional items, and many people ask if the Shatfords are still around, what a surprise they get when we tell our old faithfuls that they are still active in the business. We also have a variety of fresh scallops, rainbow trout, snow crab, mussels and salt cod.We also have a variety of novelty items such as candies in the shape of fish and shellfish, lobster bib kits, lobster crackers and accessories for your eating enjoyment.
